Ingredients:

For the Brisket:

  • 3-4 lbs beef brisket
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

For the BBQ Sauce:

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

1, Season the Brisket:

Combine the smoked paprika, onion and garlic powders, salt, pepper, and cumin in a small bowl. Coat the brisket well on all sides by rubbing it with the spice mixture.

2, Sear the Brisket:

In a big skillet set over medium-high heat, warm the olive oil. After approximately four to five minutes of searing each side, the brisket should be well browned. After browning the brisket, place it in the slow cooker.

3, Make the BBQ Sauce:

The Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper should all be whisked together in a medium bowl.

4, Cook the Brisket:

Make sure the brisket in the slow cooker is thoroughly coated by pouring half of the BBQ sauce over it. Cover and cook until the brisket is cooked and can be easily pulled apart with a fork, 8 to 10 hours on low or 4 to 5 hours on high.

5, Serve with Extra Sauce:

After the brisket has cooked all the way through, take it out of the slow cooker and let it 10 minutes to rest before slicing. Warm up the extra BBQ sauce and use it as a dip or drizzle on top of the sliced brisket.

  • Notes:

Brisket is perfect for tacos, sliders, or alongside roasted vegetables!
