Nuclear Attack on the West Should Russia Lose Territory, Says Medvedev

Dmitry Medvedev, a close supporter of Russian President Vladimir Putin, has warned that if Moscow is forced to cede the Ukrainian territory it has taken over, it will launch nuclear weapons towards Washington and other Western cities, as reported in the Daily Mail on Sunday.
The deputy head of the Russian security council, which is in charge of the war against Ukraine, Dmitry Medvedev, declared, “Attempts to return Russia to the borders of 1991 [when the Soviet Union collapsed] will lead to only one thing: towards a global war with Western countries utilizing the entire strategic arsenal of our state — in Kyiv [Ukraine], Berlin, London, Washington.”

If Russia does not “have the courage to do this if the disappearance of a thousand-year-old country, our great Motherland, is at stake, and the sacrifices made by the people of Russia over the centuries will be in vain,” he continued, the answer is “obvious.”
He pointed out that “the West should not think that in such a scenario the leadership of Russia will ‘tremble in its hand’ in pushing the nuclear button.”
Russia’s 2008–2012 president, Dmitry Medvedev, emphasized that “it’s better to return everything [to us] before it’s too late.” Or we’ll return it ourselves while causing the opponent as much damage as possible.”

In addition, he attacked “snotty Anglo-American fosterlings” who criticize Putin’s leadership, calling German and British defense ministers Grant Shapps and Boris Pistorius “a**holes” for thinking that the world cannot afford for Russia to conquer Ukraine.
The “direct and irreversible collapse of present-day Russia,” he continued, would occur if Shapps and Pistorius got their way, encompassing the areas of Ukraine that the Kremlin has annexed.
