Spicy Cajun Steak

Ingredients:

For the Cajun Steak:

  • 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks (about 8 oz each)
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter

For the Alfredo Pasta:

  • 8 oz fettuccine or any pasta of your choice
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Directions:

Prepare the Pasta:

  • Pasta should be cooked in salted boiling water as directed on the box.  Reserve the drained liquid.

Garnish the Steak:

  • Combine the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper in a small bowl with the Cajun spice.
  • After patting the steaks dry with a paper towel, liberally season them with the Cajun spice mixture on both sides.

Cook the Steak:

  • In a large pan, melt the butter and olive oil over medium-high heat.
  • To achieve medium-rare doneness, sauté the steaks for three to four minutes on each side once the pan is hot.
  • Before slicing, take the steaks out of the pan, tent them with foil, and let them 5 minutes to rest.

Prepare the Alfredo Sauce:

  • Melt a tablespoon of butter in the same skillet over medium heat.
  • Sauté the minced garlic for 30 seconds, or until it begins to release its aroma.
  • Add the heavy cream and reduce heat to a low simmer.
  • Whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese slowly until the sauce reaches a velvety consistency.
  • Add pepper and salt to taste to the sauce.

Combine the Pasta and Sauce:

  • Cut the Cajun steak that has rested into thin pieces.

Serve:

  • Arrange the steak on top of a sauce made of rich Alfredo sauce and top with chopped fresh parsley.
