Do you want to treat yourself? Try this grilled steak and cheese sandwich! A simple but delicious grilled sandwich with juicy steak and melty cheese.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb flank steak (or any cut of your choice)
- 4 slices of your favorite bread (sourdough or white bread works great)
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp butter
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: A few scrambled eggs for extra flavor
- Optional: Garlic powder or your favorite seasoning for added taste
Instructions:
- Prepare the steak:
Add salt, pepper, and whatever other seasonings you choose to the steak. Sear the steak for four to five minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until done to your liking. After that, let it a few minutes to rest before cutting it thin.
- Grill the bread:
Get a skillet ready over medium heat while the meat is resting. Toast both sides of the bread slices and put them in the pan, greased sides facing down. Cook, turning once or twice, until grill marks appear all over and batter is dry.
- Assemble the sandwich:
Arrange the cut steak on top of one cooked bread slice. Sprinkle some cheddar cheese on top. For an additional creamy and rich flavor, try adding scrambled eggs if you choose.
- Melt the cheese:
Grill the sandwich until the cheese melts and the bread becomes crispy, turning it over so the unsbuttered side faces down in the pan. Just a couple more minutes more.
- Serve:
Hot sandwiches with a side of your preferred sauce or pickles are best served after being halved.
Satisfy your craving for a cheesy steak sandwich!
