President Joe Biden urged senators to have “spine” and pass the bipartisan immigration plan, saying on Tuesday that it is collapsing politically due to pressure from Republican competitor Donald Trump.
It appears that this bill will not even make it to the Senate floor. Why? The obvious explanation is Donald Trump,” stated Biden.
He said, “Because Donald Trump thinks it’s bad for him politically.”
Speaking on how Trump would “rather weaponize this issue than actually solve it,” Biden said that he has received reports that the president has been contacting Republicans in the House and Senate in an effort to “threaten them and try to intimidate them to vote against this proposal.”
“Seems like they’re giving in,” Biden remarked. “Frankly, they owe it to the American people to show some spine, and do what they know to be right.”
